Modern Woodmen’s “Athlete of the Week” Courtnee Carter

The spring sports season got underway this week and several teams put in impressive work. One team picked up a pair of wins to open the 2020 season and one player was a crucial part of those wins. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Eastern Randolph’s, Courtnee Carter.

Carter, a junior three-sport athlete, helped the Lady Wildcats to wins over Asheboro and Southwestern Randolph to open the season. On Monday, she went 1-for-2 at the plate with one run scored and two RBIs. Her one run scored came as the result of a home run in the first inning. A few nights later she picked up two hits in a 5-4 win on the road at Southwestern Randolph. In three seasons on varsity, she has scored 43 runs on 56 hits and brought in 23 runs. She also has a career total of 20 stolen bases. Although the season has just started, Carter will be a key part of the Wildcats team this season. She is a competitive player who does whatever her team needs her to do to win.

Congratulations to Courtnee Carter on being named this week’s Modern Woodmen “Athlete of the Week!”
